OAKLAND, Calif. – Stephen Curry stepped up for the Warriors on Monday Evening after a terrible outing the night before. Curry tallied up a double-double with21 points, 10 Assists, 7 rebounds , & 6 steals leading the team for their first win of the season against a tough Chicago Bulls team with Derrick Rose leading the charge.
The Warriors came off a loss from the LA Clippers the night before after being blown away in the 4th quarter by newly acquired Clippers Phenom Chris Paul.
Stephen Curry had only 4 points in the season opener going 2-12 from the FG and 0-4 from the three-point line. Instead, tonight was a different story.
On the other hand, the defending league MVP, Derrick Rose did not have a good night. After leading the Bulls to an amazing win over the Lakers on Christmas Day, with the game winning shot, he struggled from the field going 4-17.
The Defense of the Warriors was effective shutting the Bulls to only shoot 41% from the field.
Monta Ellis led the team in scoring by contributing 26-points and tallying up 7-assists.
Warriors will be hosting the New York Knicks on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Oracle Arena at 7:30p.m.
Game Notes: The Golden State Warriors acquired Guard Brandon Rush from the Indiana Pacers for Lou Amundson. Warriors have awarded guard Ish Smith off of waivers.
