The Golden State Warriors led both quarters in the first half, but the Memphis Grizzlies made that moot in the second half as Memphis moved to 3-3, defeating Golden State 109-104.
The Warriors did attempt a comeback similar to last game, but were unsuccessful.
The Grizzlies’ Rudy Gay had 23 points. Hakim Warrick contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Darrell Arthur had 12 rebounds and 13 points.
For Golden State, Stephen Jackson had another good game, scoring 27 points, Andris Biedrins had 23 and 12 rebounds and starter Kelenna Azubuike scored 21 points. Biedrins set an NBA record with the longest active streak for double-doubles with 13.
Game notes: The Warriors’ Al Harrington was replaced by Brandan Wright in the lineup due to back soreness. Memphis had a higher free throw, 3 point field goal and field goal percentage. Golden State had 52 points in the paint compared to the Grizzlies’ 46. The Warriors next play Sunday versus the Sacramento Kings, 6pm.
