OAKLAND--New Warriors draftee Ekpe Udoh doesn't mind being labeled the NBA's worst selection in the NBA draft as he came in at number six matter of fact Udoh was amused when he met the press on Monday saying, "I don't take it personally, I don't pay any attention to it.I just know I'm going to work hard." said Udoh.

The Warriors fans are just kind of worn out by this particularly and this is an unexciting pick that doesn't mean it's a bad pick and just means it's not a very exciting pick. The Warriors were kind of screwed back in May when they got the sixth pick in this draft.

They actually finished as the fourth worst team in the league, their actually higher than that for the third worst record in the NBA. So potentially Golden State could have been the third team or could have been the fourth team in the draft but that's not how the lottery works.

Philadelphia and Washington jumped ahead of everybody they got the first and second pick and the Warriors ended up sliding down to the sixth pick and sixth pick isn't necessarily a bad pick but all of the experts on drafting seemed to agree that this was a five player draft.

When there is a five player draft and your number six that's definitely not a good sign. So what they really mean is that there are five guys in this draft that all the experts kind of agree have all star talent potential as NBA players, Ekpe was not one of those five guys that doesn't mean he isn't going to be a valuable player and that doesn't mean he won't be an All-Star or a great player.

Right now it's all a guessing game, you never know which pick is going to blow out his knee though you can usually bet that it's going to be someone picked by the L.A. Clippers. You don't know who’s going to get injured and you don't know who’s going to exceed expectations.

Let's not forget Tim Hardaway was picked by the Warriors 14th, in their draft back in 1987 everybody who was 13 picks ahead of him if they knew what a good player Hardaway was going to be he wouldn't have gone 14th. The point is you really never know what your going to get in the draft and let's remember Michael Jordan was the third pick.

There are plenty of guys who have gone beyond the first five picks and turned out to be a great player. Paul Pierce for example on the Boston Celtics was drafted the eighth or ninth pick. He slid down in the draft even though he had a great college career where people questioned whether he could turn pro.

Pierce ended up with the Celtics as the eighth pick in the draft and look what a great player he became. Kobe was something like a 12th or 13th pick and he ended up getting traded to Charlotte and ended up with the Lakers before he ended up playing.

Everybody has their expert opinions on which guys are the best guys in this draft and you could say that those first five guys are the closest to a sure thing and the best possibility of being the best players. That doesn't mean there won't be good players out of this draft.

I can guarantee there will be someone that will be good out of this draft that no one expected. Now let's look at Udoh he's not exciting he played for Baylor and a lot of people in the Bay Area didn't get a chance to learn about him. But they will soon.
