The Warriors wrapped up the 2010-2011 season with an 86-110 victory in front of their home crowd in Oakland. The win was bittersweet as the Ws will spend another off season watching the playoffs or working on their golf game, while the Blazers had already locked-up the number six seed in the Western Conference.
Golden State’s Reggie Williams scored a game-high 28 points and Steph Curry pitched in 18 to lead the Warriors to put the final touch on their 36-46 season. Portland, who had sewn up their seed on Tuesday sported mostly a bench-led game.
Portland will face the #3 seed, Dallas, in their series that starts Saturday.
The Warriors enter the off-season with a sub-par record and a coaching controversy. Regardless of who their coach will be, the Warriors return to their Oracle home court next spring. Which is more than you can say for their soon to-be-ex-NorCal neighbors in Sacramento. See, Warriors fans, the season could have been worse.
