In what could be the most pivotal game of the season, the Golden State Warriors were unable to get past the high flying Denver Nuggets.

Allen Iverson scored 33 points, while J.R Smith scored 24, as the Nuggets defeated the Warriors 114-105 before 20,737, the largest crowd to ever view a basketball in the State of California.

In the hard fought nine-point loss, Baron Davis picked up his third triple-double of the season, as he scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebound and dished off 10 assists.

Monta Ellis led the Warriors with 29 points, while Stephen Jackson added 18 and Al Harrington chipped in with 20.

With the victory, the Nuggets took a one-game lead over the Warriors for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points for the Nuggets.

The Nuggets led for most of the game by double digits, as they led the Warriors 107-90; however the Warriors went on a 9-0 run to cut the Nuggets lead down to 107-99 after a Kelenna Azubuike three pointer with just a little over four minutes remaining in the game.

Unfortunately, the Warriors were able to get no closer, as Iverson put the icing on the cake when he hit a three-pointer to push the Nuggets lead back up to 112-101 with 2:06 remaining in the game.
