Just one night after getting destroyed in the State Capital by the Sacramento Kings, the Golden State Warriors went to Southern California for a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Stephen Jackson scored 29 points, and Monta Ellis added 28, including 12 in a 4:36 stretch in the fourth quarter and the Warriors defeated the Clippers 116-100 at Staples Center.
This was the ninth victory in 12 games for the Warriors, who gained a game on the Denver Nuggets, who lost a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia 76ers 114-113 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
The Warriors lead for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference now stands at 2.5 games.
In fact, the Warriors never trailed in the game, as they broke a seven-game losing streak against the Clippers at Staples Center.
The last time the Warriors defeated the Clippers on their home floor came on March 21, 2004, when the Warriors defeated the Clippers 96-85.
