OAKLAND--Like we have been saying the Warriors are not a particularly good team and their coming off a five game losing sweep on this last road trip and opening up a four game home stand starting Friday night against Portland.
While there are a few talented players on the club most of them aren't even playing anymore because they all seemed to be hurt. Monta Ellis didn't play on this road trip, Andris Biedrins played on this last trip and he's out for the rest of the season, the Warriors have been kind of like a M*A*S*H* unit this season and they were like that last year.
This year not only are they injured but they don't have players down at the end of the bench that are proven helpers. They have so many guys from the D league now that you have to wonder if you have to consider the Warriors a true NBA team.
Not just guys like Anthony Toliver , Chris Hunter, Kobe Carl, and Cardiae Martin, let’s face it these guys are in the D league for a reason and they haven't proven one way or the other that they are full time every single day NBA players.
Toliver let's give him a little bit of props he looks like he could at least play in the NBA but the rest of the guys day in and day out are nothing special. This Warriors team is struggling and really at this point the only thing that W's fans have to look forward to is the NBA draft and the lottery.
The lottery will be in May sometime during the playoffs, the Warriors right now are firmly entrenched in the third worst spot in the NBA. They have the third worst record so they have the third best chance at getting the top pick.
New Jersey of course has the worst record and are sitting at a beautiful 7-56, they still can possibly tie the old Philadelphia 76ers record for the most loses in a season or even do worse than the 76ers record for futility of nine wins in a season.
The Nets are in a race for the number one pick as are the Minnesota Timberwolves sitting at 14-50, the Warriors are 3.5 games ahead of the T-Wolves with a 17-47 record. Either way it's a lousy record and very much reflective of this team and as much as you like guys like Stephan Curry, Anthony Morrow, and Monta Ellis whose been in and out of the lineup.
This team just isn't a team that's in a cohesive unit and as long as that doesn't change this team is going to struggle night in and night out trying to win ball games. It's really a shame. If there is anybody out there following this club on the internet and a Warriors fan trying to follow the W's on line, one of the things floating around out there was a blog post by a long time season ticket holder who stated she was not going to renew her tickets.
She decided she was going to get rid of them and not going to renew after this season she said the reason why is she can't stand the ownership, they have no chance of winning with the product their putting out there on the court and they don't seemed to be trying to be putting a good product on the court.
This is the reason a lot of us have been saying for years and years no one will reup their season tickets as long as this goes on. This year head coach Don Nelson seems to be playing out the string with the crazy moves that the team has made and it seems more obvious than ever that owner Chris Cohen is trying to make money and he's not trying to put a winning product on the court.
While there are plenty of teams who want to make money they also put an entertaining product out there. The Warriors don't match any of those criteria and it's really a shame because the Warriors fans are among the best in the NBA.
