The Warriors let one slip away at Oracle Arena Monday night, falling to Dallas 127-117. Golden State carried a lead throughout the game until late in the fourth quarter.
Three Mavericks had season-high scoring nights. Jason Terry led all scorers with 36 and Josh Howard (25) and Drew Gooden (24) all came up big for Dallas.
Anthony Morrow notched a double-double for the Warriors with his own season-high 33 points and 11 rebounds, to lead the team. Anthony Tolliver also pitched in 14 points and 11 rebounds, marking his second double-double in consecutive games.
The silver lining behind the dark cloud of the Warriors ninth straight loss turned to coal when would-be superstar Monte Ellis was forced to leave the game in the waning minutes with an apparent knee injury. Ellis had pitched in a robust 27 points on the night.
Elton Brand and the Clippers come to town on Wednesday night.
