If the Portland Trail Blazers would have drafted Kevin Durant instead of Greg Oden in the 2007 NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder would be suffering through a tumultuous time without Oden.

Durant scored 45 points, as the Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors 112-104 at the Ford Center, coming within two points of his career high.

The Warriors cut a 14-point Thunder down to just three with three minutes remaining in the game, but the duo of Durant and Russell Westbrook hit their free throws down the stretch to stave off the Warriors comeback.

Corey Maggette scored 26, while Monta Ellis added 25 for the Warriors, who have lost five games in a row and lost for the 23rd time in their last 30 games.

Coby Karl, the son of Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl made his Warriors debut and scored six points and dished off six assists before fouling out in the waning minutes.
