All year long, the Golden State Warriors have been playing shorthanded, and now they must do it without their top player.
Monta Ellis, who sprained his right ankle in Friday night’s blowout over the New Jersey Nets missed his first game of the season.
Steve Nash scored 23 points, while Goran Dragic added 20 points off the bench and the Phoenix Suns defeated the Warriors 112-103 at the USAIRWAYS Center.
Robin Lopez scored 16, while both Grant Hill and Amare Stoudemire chipped in with 15 for the victorious Suns.
Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 27 points, while Stephen Curry added 25 for the Warriors, who played with just nine players.
C.J. Watson made his return to the lineup for the first time since lacerating his right hand on January 13 in a home game against the Miami Heat, scoring 11 in 24 minutes of action.
