Another double-double by center Erick Dampier helped lead the Golden State Warriors to a 101-85 victory over the Utah Jazz before only 14,358 at the Arena in Oakland.

Dampier score 18 points and grabbed a career high 24 rebounds. Dampier's previous career high was 23, which he achieved against the Lakers on November 2, 2003.

"We knew we had an opportunity to pound the ball inside tonight," said Dampier. "I just feel what I'm doing now I could have done the last couple of years, but I had some injuries. And now I'm showing what I'm capable of."

The Warriors, who dressed only nine players, had five players score in double figures including aforementioned Dampier. The Jazz dressed only eight players, among the missing for Jazz was Greg Ostertag who was suspended by the NBA for fighting.

Calbert Cheaney led the Warriors with 20 points off the bench, Jason Richardson had 18, Clifford Robinson scored 16, and Speedy Claxton chipped in with 10 in another starting role replacing the injured Nick Van Exel.

The Warriors are now 3-0 when they wear their throwback jerseys from the 1966-1967 season. The Jazz also wore their 1979 throwback jerseys. That 1979 season, was the first that the Jazz played in Salt Lake City after moving from New Orleans where they played from 1974-1975 thru the 1978-1979 season.

Raja Bell led the Jazz in scoring with a new career high of 25.

Notes: Golden State normally would have played a day game to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. but national TV dictated a 7:00 pm start.

The Warriors will again wear their throwback uniforms on January 30 versus the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls will be wearing their 1985 throwback uniforms. During that season, a young man out of the University of North Carolina transformed the NBA. That rookie's name was Michael Jordan.
