Minnesota’s three game winning streak is their longest since 2005. They now aim for a victory in San Francisco for the first time in almost 20 years.

The Vikings are currently tied with Arizona and Detroit for the last NFC wild-card position and have outscored opponents 112-49 since November 11.

Minnesota’s Chester Taylor has flourished during the successful run and rookie Adrian Peterson returned last week with a great game, only 1 TD run shy of the league lead now. The Vikings have the NFL’s most prolific rushing offense and is also adept at halting the opposition in this category.

Perhaps the only thing they aren’t that good at is pass defense, allowing 278.8 yards per game for worst in the NFL. That will be up to Trent Dilfer to exploit, as he will make yet another start for Alex Smith, who has missed 3 games after playing the previous 3 contests.

The Niners are tied with the Rams and Falcons for the worst record in the NFC.

It’ll be a battle as to who wins first at Monster Park. SF has lost their last 4 at home while the Vikings have lost their last 8 there.

Minnesota Ray Edwards will also serve the first of his 4 game suspension for failing to adhere to NFL steroid policy.

Predictions: The Vikings by the majority (93%) of Pro Football Pick’em users, all 5 of Yahoo! Sports experts, and sportingnews.com fan blogs by a score of 24-10.

*Info gathered from Yahoo! Sports

The 49ers are 9-1 when RB Frank Gore has 20+ carries.
