Chicago Bears at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Thursday, Nov. 12, 5:30 p.m.
Radio KNBR-AM 680
TV – NFL Network
History Lesson: Back in Week 8 of the 2006 season, the Bears walloped the 49ers 41-10… The last time the Bears visited San Francisco, the Niners declawed them 49-7 in 2003… Chicago however has won the last four meetings between the NFL stalwarts and now trail San Francisco by just one game in the overall series (30-29-1)… Last week Bears QB Jay Cutler led the NFL in pass yardage, by the Bears were upended by Arizona 41-21… San Francisco, plagued by four turnovers by QB Alex Smith, was toppled by the Titans 34-27.
The Good Guys: Despite turning the ball over four times in last Sunday’s loss, QB Alex Smith got a vote of confidence from head coach Mike Singletary… TE Vernon Davis added another TD catch last week and now has seven… City native Josh Hill made a pair of TD catches… RB Glen Coffee will miss the game.
The Bad Guys: In his lone career game vs. San Francisco, Bears QB Jay Cutler threw for 230 yards in a win over SF by Denver… Cutler has passed for 2046 yards and 14 TDs in his first season in Chicago…Chicago loves to score points via special teams and defense, having posted six or more TDs that way each season since 2004… RB Matt Forte leads the Bears with 441 rushing yards… WR Devin Hester has four TD grabs…
