As San Francisco meets a team worse then they are, they hope to end their 5-game losing streak. Atlanta on the other hand, hopes to end their 2-game losing streak.
The Falcons need to improve on their rushing game.
Atlanta quarterback Byron Leftwich is out 3-4 weeks after having right ankle surgery. Thus at the helm again will be Joey Harrington.
Cornerback DeAngelo Hall had an issue with those higher up as well, as he felt the organization was giving up in a sense. This came after the release of nose tackle Grady Jackson.
The 49ers pass the ball more then they run while the Falcons have achieved more of a balance between the two.
Atlanta hopes they can use their bye week as an advantage.
SF is two games behind the Seattle Seahawks.
Quarterback Alex Smith did not have surgery for his separated shoulder. He is sore but should improve as he adjusts to effects of the injury.
Frank Gore’s rushing output is equivalent to 70.6% of the team’s.
Rookie linebacker Patrick Willis’s 10.4 tackles per game leads the NFL.
It would be a good idea for SF to get ahead in the game early, even more so, to have the lead by halftime.
Predictions: 4 of 5 Yahoo! Sports’ experts pick the Falcons and Sporting News fan blogs pick SF by a tight, low scoring game score of 10-7.
