Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin announced today that Josh McCown will get the call, after back up quarterback Daunte Culpepper could not get the Raiders a win after the team had lost three straight games.

Kiffin said that the Raiders offense had broke down and there was no production and the Raiders were losing too many close games. With the change Kiffin now hopes that McCown can get some balls in the end zone and quick as the Raiders head into Coliseum this Sunday 2-5 against the 3-5 Houston Texans.

The move puts Culpepper as the second string quarterback just above rookie draft pick JaMarcus Russell who was announced as number three. The quarterback position has been a revolving door with Russell staying out of camp and for the first four weeks of the regular season as a contract hold out. Then McCown went down with a injury in week 3 with a toe injury putting the Raiders behind schedule and rushing Culpepper to get the playbook down and try to help the Raiders get some wins.

Kiffin said that the change was made not because Culpepper lost the last three games for the Raiders but because McCown had to sit down due to his injury, "Coach said he doesn't feel anybody should lose their job to injury, that's his decision. Like I said from the first day I got here when I'm called, I'm ready," said Culpepper about the decision.

Culpepper who did well against his former team the Dolphins lost the next three succeeding games and now will watch from the sidelines as McCown will give it a go. "I feel like I can play my game and do what I do, the best thing is I know I don't think about it while I'm out there so it doesn't factor in to anything." said McCown.

J-Dogg's Raiders notes: It was announced on Thursday that the Raiders didn't make deadline by 1:30 PM in selling out their remaining tickets to be able to show their ball game on local TV station KPIX CBS 5.

The Raiders made a push to get all the tickets sold but fell short. KPIX said they would show the Colts and Patriots and televise it in place of the Raiders-Texans match.
