San Francisco 49ers (3-3) at Indianapolis Colts (6-0)
Sunday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. (PST)
Radio KNBR-AM 1050
TV – FOX 2
History Lesson: During their last meeting, the Colts limited the Niners to just 177 total yards, whipping the Scarlet & Gold 28-3 in Week 5 of 2005… Despite the Colts recent run of success in the league, the 49ers have won seven of their last nine meetings… The Colts however lead the all time series 23-18… Last week, Indianapolis cracked the Rams 42-6… The Niners fell to the Texans 24-21.
The Bad Guys: TE Dallas Clark is making another Pro Bowl run with 38 catches to his name so far… DE Dwight Freeney has seven sacks, so watch out, Alex Smith… QB Peyton Manning seems to only get better and better. He 156 of 215 on the season for 1880 yards and 15 TDs… Manning has 108 career TD passes vs. NFC clubs… WR Reggie Wayne lead the Colts with 5 TD grabs… He has a TD in four straight games… RB Joseph Addai has 274 rushing yards.
The Good Guys: Get those No. 11 jerseys out of moth balls, QB Alex Smith is back. The former No. 1 overall pick makes his first start under center in two years… When Smith has a 95-plus passing rate the Niners are 5-0… LB Patrick Willis is the only player in the league to lead his team in sacks sacks (2.5) and INTs (two)… With his three TDs last week, Vernon Davis, now has six on the season.
