So this is what the Giants had in mind when they drafted Buster Posey.
The young catcher broke out the big bat on the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday night, knocking in six runs with a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in a fourth inning that saw the Giants score seven runs, as his team moved one game closer to a four-game sweep with a 15-2 win at Miller Park.
Obviously by looking at the final score, Posey wasn't the only one who had a big game. The Giants got huge production from the top of its lineup, as Andres Torres and Freddy Sanchez each drove in three runs with a pair of hits, with Torres leading off the game with a solo homer.
For Tim Lincecum, who has been struggling mightily with his control recently, the four-run first inning was better than anything he could have hoped for. Without the burden of having to keep his team in the game, he was allowed to cruise through seven innings and gave up only a run on four hits, striking out 10 batters and walked only two.
