SAN FRANCISCO-During the 1980s, when the San Francisco Giants played at Candlestick Park, the fans would UUUUUUURIBE for fan favorite Jose Uribe.

Fast forward nearly 20 years later at AT&T Park, and once again the Giants fans are chanting UUUUUUURIBE, this time for Juan Uribe, the nephew of the former Giants shortstop.

Uribe hit a solo home run off of Tim Wakefield in the bottom of the third inning, his team-leading 12th home run of the season and the Giants hung on to defeat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 before a sellout crowd of 41,182 at AT&T Park.

Jonathan Sanchez went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits, walking four and striking out six to pickup his sixth win of the season

With the victory, Sanchez raises his record to 5-2 with a 2.63 earned run average in eight starts at AT&T Park this season.

Sanchez also picked up a career-high tying two hits, including a bunt single that scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning that tied up the game.

Buster Posey went 3-for-4 on the evening, as he picked up his eighth multi-hit game of the season.

Kevin Youkilis slammed a three-run home run off of Sanchez in the top of the first inning, as he added a triple in the top of the ninth inning off of Brian Wilson.

Wakefield went seven innings, with three strikeouts, four runs (three of them earned) on 11 hits and just two walks.

In his career, Wakefield falls to 0-3 with a 7.04 earned run average in four career starts in the City of San Francisco, this includes the beginning of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Local kid Daniel Nava, who went to Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, before heading to Santa Clara went 0-for-3 at the plate with two walks.

This was the 12th consecutive game that Nava reached base, tying the longest streak by a Red Sox player to start a career since Mo Vaughn accomplished the same feat from June 27-July 11, 1991.

NOTES: Sanchez also picked up two hits versus the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on June 12, 2008.

Madison Bumgarner will take to AT&T Park mound for the first time versus the Red Sox, while the Red Sox will counter with Clay Buchholz, who will be making his first ever start against the Giants.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia, who 5-for-5, including a career-high three home runs in a thrilling 13-11 10-inning victory over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Thursday night, was forced to leave the game after suffering a left foot injury, when he fouled a ball off his foot in the top of the third inning.

With the victory, the Giants improve to 7-0 while wearing their Orange “Friday” Jerseys.
