Now we finally have a game worthy of the NBA Finals. Game 5 went to the San Antonio Spurs 96-95 Sunday night in an overtime thriller that was easily the best game of this series. The Spurs now lead this one 3-2 and they take it back to San Antonio with a chance to win it all on Tuesday night. Detroit has their backs against the wall and has to play fantastic ball to overcome this great San Antonio team.

San Antonio and Detroit went back and forth throughout the entire game with great play at both ends. This one was one for the books - you might be seeing this one on ESPN Classic.

Tim Duncan played out of his mind - 26 points from the floor, 19 rebounds, two blocks, he really carried this team. Bruce Bowen played fantastic defense as always along with 10 points and five boards. Manu Ginobili after having a couple of tough games with that thigh bruise came out and scored 15 points.

The big man in this game was Robert Horry. He had 21 points, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range. Horry hit the game-winner with five seconds left in overtime, but also had a huge dunk with about 1:30 left to bring the Spurs within one point.

You had to wonder how Horry could get as open as he was, considering his history of hitting great clutch shots, but he was wide open. After inbounding the ball to Ginobili with 9.4 seconds left, Ginobili ran across the baseline and the Pistons unwisely double-teamed him. Ginobili was able to get the ball to Horry, who promptly hit the wide-open three.

Ziz's footnotes: Looking to Game 6 on Tuesday, Detroit has their backs against the wall, now needing to win both games in San Antonio to repeat as champs.

If the Pistons want to win, Chauncey Billups is going to have to get his shooting touch up a little bit higher. Even though he had 34 points in Game 5, you've got to make more shots. These two teams play great defense and if San Antonio comes out and plays as well as they did in those first two games of this series, it's pretty much over for Detroit.
