SAN FRANCISCO-Buster Posey was tearing up the Pacific Coast League, so the brain trusts of the San Francisco Giants thought enough was a enough and brought the 23-year old up from Fresno.

Posey did not disappoint the team or the fans, as he picked up three hits in four at-bats, driving in three runs and the Giants defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 12-1 before 37,400 at AT&T Park.

Jonathan Sanchez went five innings, giving up one run on just two hits, while walking four and striking out seven.

The lone run Sanchez allowed came off the bat of Rusty Ryal, who smashed a long solo home run off of Sanchez in the top of the third inning.

Kelly Johnson picked up the only other hit off of Sanchez, as he doubled to lead off the game for the Diamondbacks, who have now lost six games in a row.

Aubrey Huff got the Giants on the board in the first inning, as he hit a sacrifice fly to score Andres Torres, who led off the inning with a walk.

Posey then picked up his first run batted in of the game, as he drove in Freddy Sanchez, who followed Torres’ walk with a walk of his own.

Juan Uribe and Eli Whiteside each hit solo home runs for the Giants, as the team scored their most runs of the 2010 season.

The 13 runs by the team were most that the Giants scored in a game since they scored 13 runs against the Houston Astros at AT&T Park on July 3, 2009.

Pablo Sandoval, who hit his first home run since April 21 on Friday night, picked up three hits, including a double in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Billy Buckner lasted just four innings for the Diamondbacks, allowing seven runs on nine hits, walking three and striking out five.

NOTES: As expected, the Giants signed former Bellarmine Prep (San Jose) star Pat Burrell to a minor league contract.

Burrell, who was released by the Tampa Bay Rays on May 19, will meet up with the Fresno Grizzlies in Salt Lake City.

To make room for Posey on the 25-man roster, the Giants sent Waldis Joaquin to the Grizzlies.

Todd Wellemeyer will look for his second consecutive win, as he takes to the mound against the Diamondbacks Ian Kennedy, who is 3-3 on the season and 1-0 versus the Giants this season and in his career.
