With a chance to bring the series back to the Bay Area for a potential game five, things were looking good for the San Jose Sharks thru the first 33 minutes of the game.
Logan Couture scored his fourth goal of the playoffs and Patrick Marleau scored his eighth goal of the playoffs, as the Sharks took a 2-0 lead.
After the two-goal lead, things unraveled completely and the Chicago Blackhawks scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Sharks 4-2 at the United Center.
The win in game four completed a four-game sweep for the Blackhawks, who advance to their first Stanley Cup and are looking for their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1961.
Brent Seabrook got the Blackhawks on the board at the 13:15 mark of the second period, as he scored his third goal of the playoffs, off the assists from Niklas Hjalmarsson, and Kris Versteeg.
Dave Bolland tied up the game five minutes and 15 seconds later for his fifth goal of the season off the assists from Ben Eager and Duncan Keith.
The eventual game-winning goal came off the stick of Dustin Byfuglien, his eighth goal of the playoffs, which came on the power play after Dany Heatley was called for hooking.
Versteeg put the game and the series away, when scored his fourth goal of the playoffs on a empty netter that sent the United Center into a frenzy.
