After announcing earlier in the day that the team was up for sale, the Golden State Warriors nearly pulled off a huge win against a playoff-caliber team.
Amare Stoudemire scored 37 points and former Warriors guard Jason Richardson scored 34, as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Warriors 133-131 at Oracle Arena.
This was the third straight loss for the Warriors, and it was the ninth loss in 11 games.
Monta Ellis scored 30 points for the Warriors, while Anthony Tolliver added 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Reggie Williams scored a career-high 29 points, as it was announced earlier in the day the sale will be headed by Galatioto Sports Partners, or GSP, to handle selling the franchise and serve as their exclusive financial adviser throughout the process.
One potential buyer for the team is Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.
