Chris Paul maybe the leader of the New Orleans Hornets, but maybe the Hornets may have someone for the future.

That future would be Darren Collison, and the Golden State Warriors learned how good this youngster is already.

Collison scored 16 points and dished off a career-high 20 assists, just one of Paul’s team record and tying Steve Nash for the most this season and the Hornets ended their four-game losing streak with a thrilling 135-131 victory over the Warriors at the New Orleans Arena.

On the flip side, the Warriors lost for the fifth straight time, despite having seven players top the double figure plateau.

Anthony Morrow hit all six three-point attempts, as he scored 28 points, and Reggie Williams also scored 28 for the Warriors.

Both Devean George and Corey Maggette each scored 18 points, C.J. Watson and Stephen Curry both scored 12 points and Chris Hunter rounded out the septet with 10 points.

The Warriors were in a prime spot to put an end to their four-game losing streak, as they led the Hornets 123-121 with 3:09 remaining in the game after a Morrow made basket.

Instead of putting the game away, the Hornets went on a 9-0 run to give the home standing Hornets a 130-123 lead.

The Warriors were in a prime opportunity to possibly send the game into overtime, but Watson’s three-pointer went off the backboard and David West secured the rebound .

West hit a free throw to give the Hornets the final margin of victory.
