The New England Patriots dynasty is so much similar to the way of the great San Francisco 49ers teams of the 1980’s as the similarities are down right scary to those old 49ers players of the day.
The New England organization is now on top and has won three Super Bowls. The way the Patriots have cropped their players are much in the way the 49ers got their players.
The Pats chose nothing but the best players and Head Coach Bill Belichick settled on nothing but the best to make sure he had top A grade A Pro Bowl like players on his team.
The Pats win every year, and have won three times and are looking at their fourth Super Bowl that is if they can get by the Giants on Super Bowl Sunday February 4th. If the Pats can nail down their fourth Super Bowl they will be just one away from that dynasty 49er team of the 80s who have five Super Bowl trophies in the display case in their Santa Clara offices.
The Patriots are equipped to go with Tom Brady who has won three Super Bowl MVPs at quarterback and he has shown no signs of slowing down with the exception of the high ankle injury that put him in a boot on Monday.
The 49ers also had Joe Montana who won four of those five 49er Super Bowls and people are comparing Brady to the legacy of Montana now and comparing his plays and skills as a great quarterback to Montana. Only time will tell as Brady is aiming to get his fourth Super Bowl ring under his championship belt.
Brady a no show for practice on Friday: Brady was another no show for the second straight day of practice. Reporters waiting for Brady to appear in the New England locker room 45 minutes before practice and after practice did not see Brady at all.
Brady on Thursday also did not appear in the locker room. Belichick has kept his whereabouts and physical condition very quiet and said on Thursday that he would discuss Brady's condition on Wednesday when he will go over the injury reports with the media.
"The injury report will be out next Wednesday and were excited to get that to you, filled out completely and I can't wait to get that to you" Belichick said between laughs from reporters when asked from reporters on a status report on Brady's high ankle injury.
Although Belichick was not talking Sports Radio has learned through other NFL sources that the Patriots medical staff is evaluating the seriousness of the injury. It was reported that Brady sustained a hit to the high ankle during the game with the San Diego Chargers last Sunday and the Patriots are trying to keep the status of the injury quiet.
Brady on Monday was spotted by reporters in front of his Manhattan apartment building with his girlfriend walking with a boot on his right foot. When asked by a reporter about the boot Brady smiled and walked away. On another occasion that same day in Manhattan Brady was spotted with the boot off and walking only with a slight limp.
The source said that Brady can walk but he is having trouble running which of course is key to a Super Bowl quarterback like Brady. Brady now has missed two practices in preparation to Super Bowl XLII on Thursday and Friday and he's a question mark for Saturday as well.
The Patriots have been working out at Foxborough Stadium and reporters are allowed to view the beginning of practice for about 15 minutes and then are asked to leave the workouts on the field. After some careful inventory Brady was not spotted on the sidelines, talking with coaches, or anywhere in the stadium, locker rooms, or field before practices.
He was rumored to still be nursing his high ankle and taking it easy. Again running is his main goal and he wants to obtain that ability to run without his legs he's not going to be effective against a monstrous New York Giants defensive blitz package.
