For the first time in the Seahawks history they are going to the big show Super Bowl XL in Detroit.

In Sunday's NFC playoff game the Seahawks went to work in the Panthers right away opening up with 7-0 score on quarterback Matt Hasslebeck's touchdown pass to Jerramy Stevens a 17 yard job at 5:56 in the first quarter.

The Seahawks up by ten saw Shaun Alexander run for a one yard carry to put the Hawks on top 17-0 with 15:00 to go in the second quarter. With the score 20-7 Seahawks, third quarter with 11:56 left Hasselbeck threw to Darrell Jackson for 20 yards to putting the game out of reach for Carolina 27-7.

The Seahawks racked up another touchdown at 6:50 when Alexander carried for a one yard carry Seahawks 34-7.

The Panthers scored their second touchdown of the game with 5:34 left when quarterback Jack Delhomme threw a pass to Drew Carter for a 47 yard score but it was for not the Seahawks win it and head to Detroit on February 5th for Super Bowl XL with 34-14 victory.
