OAKLAND-Usually in the past when the Golden State Warriors trailed in the first quarter by 18 points, that would basically put an end to that game.

That was then, and this is now, as the Warriors came back from that huge deficit and defeated the Denver Nuggets 111-101 before 18,194 at Oracle Arena.

Stephen Jackson scored 29 points and dished off seven assists, as the Warriors were without the services of Corey Maggette, who sat out the game with a strained left hamstring.

Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 29 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished off five assists, as the Nuggets played their first game without Allen Iverson, who was traded to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb on Monday.

Kelenna Azubuike added 22 points off the bench, while Brandon Wright set a career high with 18 points, including 14 in the first half.

Andris Biedrins picked up another double-double, as he scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, it was the 12th consecutive double-double for Biedrins going back to last season.
