The San Jose Stealth will face off with the Colorado Mammoth this week in a battle for standings in the Western Division of the National Lacrosse League. San Jose has started to show some fire in their last 3 games, but they are going to need to bring out their best play to take down the Colorado Mammoth.
Colorado is currently sitting second in the Western Division with a record of 4-2. San Jose is currently 5th out of 6 teams, with a record a 2-4.
In San Jose’s last home match they defeated the Edmonton Rush in dramatic fashion, looking great on their offensive and defensive games. Roik, the goalkeeper for San Jose, was able to stop almost everything the Rush threw at him.
San Jose desperately needs to start winning games to drive up their fan base and increase attendance. They are the worst attendance team in the league, with an average of 3,752 per game. In contrast, Buffalo has an average of 17,624.
Look for team leaders Colin Doyle, Jeff Zwicki, and Rhys Duch to come out playing strong on the 21st. They are the top goal scorers with 25,29, and 29 respectively for the season.
Colorado will put up a tough fight and will be a difficult opponent to take out. Last week, Colorado brought down Calgary from undefeated status in a tough match. Colorado also has some of the toughest offense in the game, and they always come out very strong in the fourth quarter.
The game will be played at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA at 7:30p.m.
