In the finale of a home-and-home series, it was a rookie who provided the lone goal of the evening for the San Jose Sharks.
Lukas Kaspar scored his first NHL goal in the second period, and Brian Boucher was able to keep the Los Angeles Kings off the scoreboard, as the Sharks made three straight to start the season with a 1-0 victory over the Kings at Staples Center.
Kaspar’s scored on a wrist shot that went past Kings goalie Jason LaBarbera, as the Sharks swept the home-and-home against their longtime rivals from Southern California.
Boucher made 21 saves on his way to his first win of the season.
