San Jose—Matt Kinsinger and Steve Warren rushed for two touchdowns each as the Sabercats demolished the Philadelphia Soul Friday night at the HP Pavilion. The `Cats returned home to even their record at 3-3 and begin a stretch where they will enjoy seven out of eleven games at home.
The San Jose defense kept the momentum from last week’s 57-38 win over the Predators in Orlando. Kinsinger, Clevan Thomas and Mack Tremain each had an interception and Rashied Davis recovered a Philadelphia fumble in the rout.
The Sabercats held the Soul to only 202 total offensive yards, stymieing quarterback Tony Graziani-the Soul’s high-priced off-season acquisition, holding him to only 16-33 and three touchdowns.
The `Cats opened the game with Kinsinger’s first touchdown on a four yard carry. Mark Grieb went 26-34 for 293 yards and three touchdowns. James Roe also pulled in two touchdown receptions and led the team with 136 receiving yards.
Next week the Sabercats take on the Grand Rapids Rampage on Friday night at the HP Pavilion.
