Well, at least the Raiders' season finale has some intrigue to it.
While Oakland plays out the string – as has been the case for the past seven years since their most recent Super Bowl run – it will face an opponent in the Baltimore Ravens that sorely needs a victory to earn a spot in the postseason.
And what better opposition to make that happen than the hapless Raiders, who can't put two decent games together to save their lives and have more problems than they know what to do with.
However, the Raiders do have some very nice wins this season against winning teams such as Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, the latter coming on the road in the final minute of the game. With that said, Baltimore is very aware of the fact that Oakland can, at times, have the look of a dangerous football team.
It's very simple for Baltimore: Win, and you're in. Lose to one of the worst teams in the NFL for the past several years, then you'll be watching the playoffs from the comfort of your living room.
Notes: The Raiders signed a pair of players off their practice squad to be active for Sunday's game, defensive end Greyson Gunheim and safety Jerome Boyd. Also, fullback Luke Lawton was suspended for four games last Thursday for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
