Raiders hit the bye week full of questions

Last Sunday the Oakland Raiders were thoroughly embarrassed at home by the Kansas City Chiefs 28-0.

Several items the Raiders need to address are the injury to Darren McFadden’s right foot, the team is a run first squad and if McFadden cannot play in two weeks the team will be without its leading rusher and second leading receiver. McFadden who was leading the League in yards on the ground only had four yards on two carries before his strained right foot ended his playing time. McFadden is day to day but the Raiders will need to 100% come the next home game against the Denver Broncos.

Carson Palmer will be the starting quarterback but still needs to get know the playbook and work with his new young receiving corps. Palmer who came in the game with just three practices under his belt was a career worst 8 for 21 with three interceptions. Palmer was rumored to know only 15 plays of the playbook last Sunday and will stay in the Bay Area to work with his offensive teammates, despite being affored four days off by the new NFL collective bargaining agreement with teammates plan to stay. No coaches will be attending but with the leadership and experience of Palmer the practices should be well worth while.

The defensive needs to heal up as well with injuries to Rolando McLain while place kicker Sebastian Janikowski left hamstring is still giving him issues.

The bright side is the return of starting fullback Marcel Reece is back on the practice field.
