Raiders do it for Mr. Davis

Just one day after the death of their beloved owner Al Davis, the Oakland Raiders went out on the field in Houston and won one for the man who was part of the Raiders since 1963.

Davis, who passed away at his home in Piedmont on Saturday morning at the age of 82 would have loved what the Raiders on the day after his passing.

Jason Campbell may have gone just 15-for-35 for 190 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, but it was a Michael Huff interception on the final play of the game that preserved the 25-20 Raiders victory over the Houston Texans 25-20 at Reliant Stadium.

Matt Schaub drove the Texans all the way down to the Raiders five-yard line after a pass to Joel Dreessen, and after a spike with seven second remaining in the game, Schaub then the fatal interception that Huff snared to solidify the emotional victory for the Raiders.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked four field goals for the Raiders, three of which were over 50 yards, a 50-yarder, a 54-yarder and a 55-yarder.

Campbell found Darrius Heyward-Bey for a 34-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter that pulled the Raiders within two; however they were unable to tie up the game, as Campbell’s two-point conversion attempt to Denarius Moore fell incomplete.

Chaz Schillens was on the receiving end of what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, as Campbell found Schillens for an 18-yard touchdown that gave the Raiders a 22-17 lead.

Janikowski then gave the Raiders their final points of the afternoon, as he nailed his fourth field goal of the afternoon from 42-yards.
