All is happy in Raider Nation

The Oakland Raiders beat the St. Louis Rams by a 16-14 score. But it was a win on a beautiful September Sunday afternoon. And that made all of the Raider Nation very, very happy.

They were happy because Darren McFadden had his best day as a pro. They were happy with Bruce Gradkowski breathing life into a listless Raider team in the second half. They were happy with the way their defense stopped a great Ram offense.

Wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey and Louis Murphy were holding on to the ball and Zack Miller had his normal excellent game.

The crowd was jubilant. A guess as to the number would be about 50,000. Was that an indicator about the beautiful day or the hopes Rader Nation has about the Raiders this year. Maybe both.

There was a lot to build on this afternoon. Next Sunday, the 26th, when they go into Phoenix to play the Arizona Cardnials, they will get a clearer view of where the team stands.

But it was a lot of fun today. Heck, you win football games one at a time.
