ALAMEDA--Raiders defensive coordinator Rob Ryan swore up and down that Raiders General Managing Partner Al Davis had nothing to do with calling the defensive plays and that it was Ryan himself all the way making the calls and trying to explain why the Raiders couldn't stop Denver quarterback Jay Cutler and the Broncos line on putting pressure on Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

"That's all on me. I put the game plan in, I run the defense, and it's all on me. I just want to set it straight because I've been here five years and I don't think people necessarily have the right story. I'm disappointed, but I just wanted to tell my side of the story for once because so many other things that come out where I have to read it and take it and I just want the truth as I know the truth." Ryan said.

The Raiders have already invested $170 million to sign players like defensive tackle Tommy Kelly, cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and Nnamdi Asomugha, safety Gibril Wilson, Cutler who threw for 299 yards against that defense for two touchdowns never even got sacked or even was chased by the Raiders defense under pressure. The Raiders failed to knock down a pass or hurry Cutler once during Monday Night.

Kiffin pointed out that Davis and Ryan are drawing up plans together for the defense and that whatever Ryan wants to do Kiffin doesn't interfere and the defensive results speaks for itself. Kiffin complained about much of the same thing last season and Davis sent a resignation letter for Kiffin to sign which Kiffin refused to during a college tournament where he was checking out future players.

"Rob and the owner (Al Davis) are always in communication, for the most part, I let Rob do his thing over there. He has a belief in certain things. And he has a conversation with the owner about that. So that wasn't the way the game plan ended up the other night." Kiffin said.
