ALAMEDA--It got up in the 80s in Alameda at practice on Wednesday but who's to cry when in other parts of the country football players are baking in the heat and a good plastic tub of ice cold Gatorade over the head wouldn't be all that bad of an idea about now.

But for the Raiders fullback Michael Bush didn't learn that he had been moved to the fullback position by head coach Lane Kiffin until he arrived at practice on Tuesday morning and was still keeping bad thoughts to himself about the change from leaving the running back position, "I've always been a team player so you just suck it up, go about your business and try to have some fun with it." Bush said.

Bush who was the Raiders first pick of the fourth round in 2007, who suffered a broken leg and recovered was expected to be one of the top choices coming out of Louisville. Asked at practice about the change in position Bush just let out a sigh and dropped his chin to his chest.

Bush spent half of last season in therapy for his leg, although he says that his leg is fine and ready to play. When fullback Oren O'Neal went down with a knee injury in Saturday's game against Arizona, Bush was penciled in for his spot. Bush whose ability to carry the ball through the line has now been retitled for short passes and screen passes because the Raiders have questioned his speed and timing coming off the backfield in carrying the ball.

"Mike is a very mature guy, so if he has to line up there, he will. He'll get it done." Kiffin said.
