Chicago, IL – San Jose put up a strong defense in the first half, but when Chicago’s superstar Cuauhtémoc Blanco came in the 60th minute, the momentum turned against them resulting in the loss. 2 goals in the last ten minutes for Chicago gave San Jose a bitter loss.

San Jose would play a good first half, and do a great job thwarting the Chicago attack. They would do this with good positioning and missing up good offense midfield play. Ribeiro came in and played a strong midfield game until he was pulled out for Convey in the second half.

Unfortunately for San Jose, Blanco came in the second half and his amazing play quickly turned the tide on San Jose. San Jose could not come up with an answer for Blanco, and that was what cost them the game.

Blanco connected with an awesome pass to Nyvarko who beat cannon for an 82nd minute goal. This was a huge game moment for Chicago, after that San Jose just collapsed. Chicago crushed San Jose’s hopes for an equalizer as they scored just into stoppage time with mastery by Blanco yet again.

Under more pressure from Chicago, they caused Simon Eliot to create an error pass in front of the box, which got sent quickly over to Blanco. Blanco setup a quick shot on goal that he fired right at the top of the net, beating Cannon and scoring the second goal.

Whatever San Jose tried, they just could not find the net tonight, and that unfortunately won’t win games. San Jose continues its “no-win” road show, winless since 2008 on the road.

Look for San Jose to play at home next week as they face off with DC United at home at 7:30 p.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium.
