Seattle – The 2 game winless streak for the San Jose Earthquakes ended tonight as Seattle defeated them 2-0. Seattle themselves were winless in 6 before tonight, ending their streak also.

The shots on goal by each team tells the story. San Jose was only able to put up 2 goals on net all night, while Seattle put up 6. In addition, San Jose only received 3 corner kicks to Seattle’s 10. The offense for San Jose just couldn’t get it done tonight.

Forward Darren Huckerby made his return to the starting lineup today. He scored the only goal for the Quakes late in the second half. The team has shown a stronger determination in the second half in their last several games, and that continued tonight.

Huckerby said “It was a bit of a weird game. They dominated the first half, but we came out and played better in the second half and could have tied the game. We are disappointed to lose as we needed the points tonight.”

The only goal for the Quakes came in the 68th minute, as Huckerby shot it past Sounder’s keeper Kasey Keller after receiving a great pass across from Ryan Johnson.

San Jose (2-8-3) is still the bottom of the Western Conference after today’s loss.
