The Earthquakes and Revolution played to a 0-0 draw Saturday in Foxborough, Mass. The Quakes continued to play outstanding defense, blanking their third straight opponent and also stretching their undefeated streak to three. San Jose has lost only one game in their last six matches.

San Jose’s best chance to steal a road win came in the eighth minute of stoppage time when Revolution goalie Preston Burpo deflected a point-blank shot from Bobby Burling. Burling had been advancing on a two-on-one break-away and Burpo charged out of the box to send the shot flying off the pitch. Burpo turned away three strong second half Quake attacks to preserve the tie, two by Ryan Johnson and another by Burling.

The victory advances the Quakes to second place in the West, with 13 points on the season. The Earthquakes continue their road trip, heading up to Seattle next week to take on Seattle Sounder FC. The team will return home on May 29, when they will partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to “kick out hunger in the local community.” Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to Buck Shaw Stadium for the game against Toronto FC.
