New York - The San Jose Earthquakes traveled to New York to face the Red Bulls for their third time this year. This matchup would prove more troublesome than the last, as the Earthquakes lost 4-1.

New York scored 4 goals in the first half, shutting down San Jose's offense until just before the half ended. Ryan Johnson and Ramiro Corrales would team up to score the Quakes only goal of the game in the 45th minute.

San Jose's late game efforts to score would continually be shutdown by a New York team that only needed to hold on to a 3-goal lead.

San Jose plays again May 23rd at Houston.
