Oakland, CA – The San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy went head to head tonight at the Oakland Coliseum. San Jose was looking for a win to move up in the western conference, but they came away with a tie, 1-1.

San Jose came out strong, looking to defeat their inter-state rivals tonight. In the fifth minute, San Jose’s Chris Leitch sent a very long ball pass over middle and found Pablo Campos totally beating the defender. Campos quickly tapped it by Galaxy keeper Ricketts, who was charging out to intercept him.

San Jose would hold on to that lead until the 76th minute, when Landon Donovan would send a pass across from the right side that would find Bryan Jordan hitting a great header to the lower right corner.

San Jose (1-2-2) has 5 points in the standings, sitting at fifth place currently, compared to Chivas USA in first with 13 points.

San Jose will play again next week on 4/25 as they take on the Seattle Sounders, who sit 2nd in the Western Conference.
