SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Earthquakes took out the Houston Dynamo today as the Johnson-Weaver offense came together again today. The Earthquakes put in 2 later goals and took the match with a 2-0 win.

Cam Weaver is showing to be quite the acquisition for the Quakes, as he has been a key part of the offense for San Jose in the last 2 pre-season games. Today he notched in a goal with an assist from Ryan Johnson. Johnson crossed it over to Weaver in the 62nd minute and he struck it into the net.

Ryan Johnson also put in a goal, although his was unassisted. In the 69th minute Johnson took off up the left side and dribbled all the way to the goal keeper’s box. He then put in a a low hard shot to the nearside and beat Dynamo keeper Hall. This was his third goal in the MLS Central Coast Showcase.

The Dynamo put no goals in the net, but it was the first goal they gave up in their first four pre-season matches.

Kei Kamara, the ex-Quake player traded to Houston, has had difficulties controlling himself whenever he has come back to play in San Jose. He showed the same lack of control this game, as he was red carded in the 74th minute with a hard tackle on San Jose defender Nick Garcia. Good job Kamara, game over for the Dynamo.
