Sacramento CA: The Monarchs have been heading in the right direction and looked to put pressure on the teams above them in the standings, but that ended with Atlanta coming into Acro Arena and punching the home town team straight in the mouth. Atlanta had an unbelievable 64.3% shooting percentage in their 98-90 win.

Nicole Powell once again provided a great stat line, scoring a team-high 23 points but with out injured Kara Lawson to provide another outside shooter the dream were able to double team Powell, that limited her looks in the second half.

DeMya Walker has continued her bid for comeback player of the year as she added 19 points of her own.

The Monarchs were simply out worked in the paint as Erika DeSouza recorded her career high with 27 points to go along with a tough 13 rebounds.

The Monarchs have played hard for returning Coach Whisenant but simply did not have the horses to compete with the Dream, who were with out Chamique Holdsclaw.

The Monarchs next play again on Thursday as they host the San Antonio Silver Stars who are trying to capture the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
