THE MEADOWLANDS--If you did not get enough egg nog for Christmas don't look to the vendors at Giants Stadium to sell you any or for that matter anything with alcohol period in it.

For the last Monday Night game gathering of the 2005 season between the Patriots and the Jets, it will be no alcohol at the park.

The Jets made this decision for the protection of the fans and possible exposure to liability to both the Jets, and the New Jersey Exposition Authority, which operates the Meadowlands.

The alcohol ban stems from an incident that occurred on Sunday November 27, when the New Orleans Saints paid a visit to the Meadowlands, and one man stabbed two fans in the Men's Room in the park,

In addition, another incident occurred that could have been alcohol related when a New York state trooper observed a fan throwing a beer bottle, and that trooper ended up with a broken leg in a struggle with that fan while escorting him out of the Meadowlands.

Look for the fans to what they can to keep warm in New York, in rigid freezing temperatures, everybody wants a little nog, to keep the spirits bright and warm up a bit but they won’t get it from the stands, according to Jets Public Relations man Ron Colangelo.”It’s for pre-cautionary reasons, to provide for the safety and comfort of our fans."

Colangelo did add that alcohol sales would return during the next game, which will be the last regular game of the season on New Years day Saturday afternoon.

In the Patriots camp: The first place Patriots come into the Meadowlands at 9-5 after Pat's Head Coach Bill Belichick said last game was the best game of the year referring to the 28-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"We’re treating this like a regular week. Put it in the headline. Bold type. It's a regular week. The players know that the staff knows it." said Belichick.

Belichick is starting quarterback Tom Brady and top NFL lineman Tedy Bruschi and Belichick is demonstrating that the Pat's can keep going with playing their starters. Belichick also plans to start his first stringers New Years Day against the Miami Dolphins.

"Just because you go out there and do it well for a couple of games doesn't mean that you're going to be able to sustain that if you don't keep working at it and taking care of all the little things." said Coach Belichick.

N.Y. Jets camp: Their woes continue at 3-11 last into the AFC East face first place New England. The Jets who lost last Sunday to the Dolphins 24-20 also have questionable Curtis Martin running back on the shelf on injured reserve out from knee surgery. Martin played in 119 straight ball games before being taken out has said its frustrating being out of action, "this surgery, this is the first time in my career missing games like this it feels like unfinished business. It is like inspired frustration that I have about it. I just can’t wait to get back going."

Martin felt good after the knee surgery, has already started rehab on the knee, and looks forward to start his running regiment in February. Martin had arthroscopic surgery to clean out the right knee closing down his season.

Martin at 32 had no ligament or structural damage and has had work on his bone bruise injuries along with having bone chips removed in the past. Martin will be replaced by recently signed linebacker Jamar Enzor on the Jets roster.

Jets VP/GM Terry Bradway placed Martin on the I.R. speculation had it that Martin might have to retire and is due to play one more year for the Jets at an agreement worth $8.1 million in 2006, "I'd rather be here than anywhere else, I know that much. I don't know what my role would be, but I'd rather be here. I'd rather lose with the Jets than to win with someone else." said Martin.

Head coach Herm Edwards concludes by saying, "by no stretch of the imagination is Curtis Martin out of our plans. He needs to be a Jet as long as he wants to be a Jet, and I think he will be."

J-Dogg's prediction: New England is in first and is one of the most consistent and strongest teams in the NFL the AFC East. The Jets although hosting at the Meadowlands have had their share of bad luck including loosing Martin and having quarterback injuries that forced them to go to the third string.

The Jets have lost eight of their last nine games while the Patriots have won five of their last six games and have a three game win streak coming into New York.

The Pats get the Doggma pick for the last Monday Night Football game of the regular season they beat New York by nine.
