Sportstalk: Michelle, their number two and they beat number 3 their perfect at 9-0 and are the talk of the nation. Stanford's Women's 9-0 (0-0) team is on a streak that is baffling and could be the early pick of the predictions for the Final Four. Talk show hosts all over the country rave about what the Cardinal can do with the basketball. Their defense shut down the Vols and the offense never slowed down in a crushing 67-52 win on Saturday at the Farm. Talk a little about this Stanford team and this unbelievable streak they have going?

Let's not get it twisted that they beat a very young team of Lady Vols, and you can talk Final Four till the cows come home. But, it's all just talk. Stanford must win it all. They haven't won a National Championship since 1992. Getting to the finals is not enough. We know that they can do that. Stanford needs to win to put themselves back up into the upper echelon of women's college basketball.

Sportstalk: Stanford head coach Tara VanDerveer said that Tennessee would always be a big test which passed with flying colors and now the biggest test is coming up when the Cardinal face the Connecticut Huskies 8-0 (0-0) who just crushed Hartford on Saturday 80-45. The game is on Wednesday night at Stanford, will this contest be more intense for the Cardinal than it was against Tennessee and how do you see the outcome of this match?

Beating UConn now just means you beat them now. You have to beat them in a championship match up for it to truly resonate. UConn doesn't lose championship games.

Sportstalk: This is the week Michelle you will be sharing the microphone and lap tops with broadcasters Jeremy Kahn and Morris Phillips at the Emerald Bowl on Saturday at AT&T Park for your third Emerald Bowl. In each of the years that you have covered the bowl talk about that sense of adrenaline during game week, interviewing the players and coaches and specifically with Boston College and USC in this match the energy for the players and coaches and of course covering this match has to be at it's height?

The Emerald Bowl is exciting because you get to see teams you don't regularly see. This year is a great example of that . . . USC and Boston College. This could be the best match up to date. An ACC team gets to get out of the snow and enjoy what the West has to offer. The Pac-10 team gets to stay close to home and their fan base. The community wins because the two schools usually go out into the community together and give back. I know this year the teams will be helping out at Glide Memorial. The Emerald Bowl is just a game, but through this game these to teams get to give back to communities of people who don't have the means to see them play.

Final Thoughts:

1. I'm not a baseball person, but what the heck was Philly thinking when they traded Cliff Lee. Lee shutdown the Yankees in the World Series. I don't know about Halliday, but I do know that you don't get rid of a guy who shuts down the Bronx Bombers.

2. I hope you so called sports fans are watching the four part series on college sports on ESPN Outside the Lines. Especially those of you who have kids who are or will be playing college sports.

3. Congratulations to Prairie View A&M on winning the SWAC Championship. That's actually also a shout out to my cousin Moses Ellis who is a defensive back for the Panthers. What it do Kinfolk!

4. Merry Christmas to all, and when you sit down with your family for dinner or dinners, don't forget about the men and women of the Armed Forces who are not with their loved ones.
