Bengals’ Henry shocker: Besides being remembered for being one of the Cincinnati Bengals best wide receivers in their history Chris Henry will be remembered for his off field troubles as well for offenses like driving under the influence, marijuana possession, assault, and criminal damaging. He was suspended for the first four games of the 2008 season.
Team mates and those who knew him said he changed his life. Henry died at age 26 on Thursday after jumping off a moving truck after being involved in a domestic dispute with his fiancée' the incident took place in Charlotte.
Fiancée' Laleini Tonga drove off in the truck when Henry jump onto the bed of the truck he was pounding on the glass to get his girlfriend's attention but she drove quickly. According to neighbors they heard Henry tell Tonga he was going to jump from the back of the truck if she didn't stop driving. Henry did and landed and never regained consciousness.
Being athlete of the year doesn't mean much to Tiger: Tiger Woods is 33 years old he is four wins away from tying Jack Nickolaus and he has an eternity to go until his senior tour ends he cannot wait a long time but if it's a permanent break then that changes history for golf and Woods. Woods did this to himself let's get that clear. Nobody messed with him, the fact that he's so private to begin with and the fact that these digressions happened in the first place into this private persona tells me that Tiger was hiding a lot and all the crap that he pulled under this private aura is now biting him in the wallet. Caddy Steve Williams who is doing this commute thing from New Zealand to the States wherever Eldrick is flying says he knows nothing of Tiger's transgressions and that he goes to the tour and leaves for New Zealand right after.
Randy Moss hasn't quit on the team: Honestly Moss has not quit on the team and having been around the game he quit in Oakland he didn't want to be there and it showed. In New England the dude just had a bad day. The Panthers who are basically fighting for their playoff lives anyway probably aren't going to get in. They need something to wolf about. They lost Sunday; the Pats are not a stellar team by any means. To say Moss quit that's a cop out.
Moss didn't quit. Moss simply had a bad day he only had the ball thrown to him four times and that tells me something it doesn't tell you a whole lot but to say that he quit that's wrong. Also why did they throw the ball to him four times if they quit on him?
It's one thing to quit it's entirely another when you have a situation where your still over throwing the ball that's when you’re not the primary focus of the offense.
Danica Patrick joining NASCAR: We were getting strung out with that little prediction thing there. Is she or isn't she? Why was she playing the media like that I didn't get it but now she's finally committed to something. At least we know it's a good thing. Now there is still a full IRL schedule which is 18 weeks.
We know that she's committed now for somewhere between a 10 to 12 week race schedule in the Nationwide Series. That could be a good thing for her but at the same time it takes commitment to understand the Stock car. You talk about an apple versus oranges situation. You have an Indy car that's about 1,000 lbs lighter than a NASCAR Speed Cup auto Nationwide stock car.
Danica is tiny and as lovely as she is and standing five feet two at least. It's hard to control that car at 189 MPH than she has and the fact that she's got to race a track which is double the field size that she's normally used to. That's going to be another issue and it's going to be fun to see what she does but I'm not expecting a whole lot myself. She also announced that she will bypass Daytona to make her Stock Car debut in California on Thursday.
To find out how difficult the conversion to NASCAR is just ask Juan Pablo Montoya and Sam Hornish Jr., just ask those guys how hard it was to jump in a stock car it wasn't pretty. Patrick has a lot of work ahead of her woman or not.
Will TV sports show "With all due respect" make it? This show premiers on Sunday December 20th on CNN and HLN Morning Express anchor Robin Meade will be leading with a panel of Charles Barkley, Dennis Eckersley, and Kyle Petty. This is going to be a no holds bar show and should really be a good discussion with some of those characters that are involved in the program.
Meade, Barkley, Eckersley, and Petty they all like to talk, I'm envisioning Petty trying to step on Charles Barkley and vice versa. I have not been able to get a handle on this role now Barkley has got two other fellow verbal bombastic combatants with him in the same room with Robin Meade. "With all due respect" on CNN kicking off Dec 20th with a 10PM ET/PT zone start.
Just be prepared to laugh especially with that group who will never leave anyone hanging on how they're feeling and they definitely will keep it lively. It's going to be a good thing and it's going to be a good show I'm going to take a look at it myself.
