Surmounting pressure, criticism that is an like an avalanche Tiger Woods succumbed to that pressure and announced on Friday that he will be taking a hiatus from professional golf indefinitely. Woods in a statement said that his first priority was to save his marriage and be with his children.

Tiger apologized again to those he let down, his family, his fans, his sponsors, his foundation, his business partners, his fellow PGA golfers, in his statement Woods was basically kicking himself for what he said was a "disappointment hurt that my infidelity has caused so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say to everyone that I'm profoundly sorry and that I ask for forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try."

According to Woods insiders Woods is expected to take off for at least a year. In that time Woods was reportedly going to weigh where people are at with his returning, where his wife is in either continuing the relationship or ending the relationship, right now though Tiger realizes that his public and golf fans at large do not want much to do with him. Further some of his fellow golfers want to really give him a piece of their mind.

Will time heal the wounds? That's going to be the most difficult question to answer in terms of what future Tiger Woods may have in every playing golf again. Woods is ashamed of the infidelity but he also ashamed of how this whole thing unfolded including being found snoring after being out cold after his SUV crashed which started this whole chapter back on November 27th.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take a break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person. Again I ask for my privacy, for my family and I'm especially grateful for all of those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period." the Woods statement concluded.
