New Orleans (3-9) @ Atlanta (7-5)
ATLANTA--In a low scoring match up last Sunday, in Baton Rouge, the New Orleans Saints dropped their ninth ball game of the season to the Tampa Bay Bucs 10-3.
In the low scoring affair Tampa Bay’s quarterback, Chris Simms threw to Joey Galloway for a 30-yard touchdown at 5:29 in the second quarter putting the Bucs up 7-0.
The Saints only score of the day would be a John Carney 26 yard field goal with 0:55 left in the second quarter.
Tampa Bay added a field goal at 10:26 in the fourth quarter when Todd France hit a 28-yard kick through the uprights for the 10-3 final in the Bucs win.
For the Saints it was another disappointing loss as the Bucs Ronde Barber was key in the win for the Bucs with three interceptions.
Tampa Bay’s head coach Jon Gruden told Barber before the game to make an interception for him as last Sunday and hold onto the ball and Barber did all three times.
Coming off a great ball game the Sunday before against the New York Jets the Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks had a rough day on offense, "Ronde likes to bait quarterbacks he likes to make them think they have that throw in there and he'll turn his head at last second”.
Falcons Camp: The Falcons come into Monday Night's game at 7-5 after loosing badly last Sunday to the Carolina Panthers 24-6. The Falcons who host Monday Night's game are 3-3 at home.
In the first quarter of last Sunday’s, game the Falcons Todd Peterson put the Falcons on the scoreboard first with a 36-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead at 4:42 in the first quarter.
The Panthers answered right back with a 18 yard pass to DeShaun Foster from quarterback Jake Delhomme to put the Panthers on top 7-3.
In the second quarter Peterson kicked another field goal at 12:30 to make it 7-6 to cut
the Panthers lead to one and that would be all the scoring by the Falcons for the day.
At 4:28 in the second quarter, Delhomme hit Steve Smith for another 18-yard score to extend the Panther lead to 14-6.
Neither team would score in the third quarter. In the fourth, Carolina's John Kasay hit a 20-yard field goal at 7:19. Finally, the Falcons pain was laid to rest when Foster ran in a 6-yard keeper for the 24-6 Falcon loss.
The Falcons 3 game win streak against the Panthers ended as Falcon Michael Vick had an idea it was going to end sometime, "the streak was not going to last long, I knew that. I was just trying to keep it going as long as I could. Everybody hyped it up that they hadn't beat us in the last three years and they fed off that.," said Vick.
J-Dogg's predictions: The Falcons are at home at 7-5 against the Saints who are 3-9. The Falcons despite the loss to the Panthers saw their running back Warrick Dunn rush 16 times for 80 yards.
They will need a little more production then that Monday Night. "I think people make it about schemes when it's really about athletes. I thought (the Panthers) team speed on defense showed up. They just played good solid team defense. I don't think it was anything schematic." said Vick.
Therefore, the Saints need their best game coming into the Georgia Dome but on the road the Falcons have, the upper hand with the home field and the Dogg predicts the Falcons by seven.
