Sure Al Davis ran the guy out of town on September 29, but Lane Kiffin is no longer out of work.

Kiffin was hired to replace Phil Fulmer as the head coach of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, becoming just the third coach for the program in the last 32 years.

Before Fulmer, who spent 17 years as the head coach, which included a National Championship in 1998, Johnny Majors coached at his alma mater for 14 seasons.

Davis fired Kiffin on September 29 after the Raiders went a paltry 5-15 under the 33-year old head coach, who is now the youngest head coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Kiffin is five months younger than Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald.
