Michelle is taking questions and emails from her viewers and readers.
Sportstalk: Michelle, the Cal Bears 6-2 (3-2) played a close game against the Arizona St. Sun Devils 4-4 (2-3) in a close 23-21 victory Saturday the game went right down to the wire at 21-21 tie when Cal kicker Giorgio Tavecchio booted the winning field goal to get the Bears just past the Sun Devils. Later an AP poll had the Bears favored to win the Pac 10 conference in light of their two losses to USC and Oregon and a close game to Arizona St. do you find picking the Bears as winning the Pac Ten a unbelievable choice?
Joyce, Moraga Calif
Joyce, I think picking the Bears to win the Pac-10 after loosing to Oregon and USC is delusional. The Bears have underperformed this whole year, and I'm not sure they can beat Stanford. So, how are they supposed to win the Pac-10??? Also, why do you allow a running back to throw a pass during a 2 minute drill in the red zone? As well as they played against ASU they almost gave it away with bad play calling.
Sportstalk:Michelle, The Stanford Cardinal 5-2 (4-2) face a tough Oregon 7-1 (5-0) team who just beat USC 6-2 (3-2) 47-20 on Saturday. The Cardinal had a bye last Saturday and host the Ducks this Saturday the Cardinal have won four of their last six games but the Ducks are undefeated in the Pac Ten. Whats your prediction for the outcome of this contest?
Jerry, San Francisco
I like Stanford, but I think that Oregon just has too many weapons and a QB who can lead them on the field. I think the Cardinal need more than a week of rest to beat the Ducks. I just hope that Stanford makes Oregon earn it.
Sportstalk:Michelle, third ranked Texas 8-0 (5-0) beat Oklahoma State 6-2 (3-1) rather handedly on Saturday 41-14. Head coach Mack Brown said that the Longhorns are getting ready to face and host University of Southern Florida 4-3 (2-2) and coach Brown said that this game gives the Longhorns a chance to extend being the best team in the nation. Michelle do you truly think the Longhorns can be the best team in the nation at season's end?
Abdul, San Leandro
I think they will be in the top five, but I don't think they will be the top team. I'm also not happy at how Mack Brown is looking past South Florida. The Bulls are one of those team who have nothing to loose and everything to gain by beating Texas. Mack Brown just needs the Longhorns to keep playing good football and quit trying to play politics with the BCS computer. Also, has he not been watching Alabama??
Final Thoughts
1. TCU is still killing their opponents making a claim to a chance at the BCS Title game and making a case for either a college football playoff or expanding the BCS by adding the Mountain West Conference. I know you Boise State folks are saying what about us. To that I say . . . yes, you have had some big wins, but if I have to match your schedule against TCU. YOU LOOSE!
2. Basketball is back and I loved watching the Lakers raise another banner on Tuesday. I can't wait for college basketball to get going. And don't forget John Calapari did his magic and Memphis and is now in Kentucky where he will lie, and eventually make the Kentucky Men's Basketball program ineligible for NCAA post season play. He's done it twice. Do you really think it's not going to happen to you. WAKE UP!!!!!!!
3. WHY IS IT NOVEMBER AND WE ARE STILL WATCHING BASEBALL. BASEBALL PLAYERS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE THE BOYS OF SUMMER NOT THANKSGIVING. CONTRACT SOME TEAMS AND MAKE THE SEASON SHORTER BUD!!!
