The whole deal on Tiger Woods is he hasn't won in a half a year and that speaks large volumes and if you don't work to be number one and after all this time you won't get there. When you have a bum knee for one, then last Thanksgiving things melted down with your wife, then your golf game goes south after that, then he tried to get his family life in order then that didn't work meaning Tiger's divorce, so where does golf rank on your priority list?
Obviously it doesn't rank very high.
Lee Westwood is number one: As far as Lee Westwood being able to take over first place and go number one good for him. While Phil Mickelson who had a couple chances at least Westwood did what was required kicked butt on the European Tour and the results for Westwood finally paid off.
Lorena Ochoa wins; out of retirement: Ochoa is still retired regardless she beat a bunch of players on Sunday and did it in fine style after dominating the LPGA for five seasons. She said she's committed to retirement but agreed to participate in the Star Trophy at Mission Hills.
Ochoa was playing against Men and Women in the tournament beating Colin Montgomerie by two shots after Mongomerie's caddy moved a sponsor sign out his line of fire on the 16th hole. It cost Mongomerie as he was handed two penalty shots and he lost by two shots.
In the first round of the course Nick Faldo was disqualified because he picked up his ball on the eighth green and he didn't know that a competition was going on. The Ryuji Imalda gave himself 26 penalty shots for not following the scorecard length.
For Ochoa it was not a game of lightweights she had to play against Greg Norman, Se Ri Pak, Annika Sorenstam, and Danny Lee who were all in the field and despite it all Ochoa walked away with a $1.28 million purse. Asked about what is next? She's probably going to back home to Mexico and enjoy retirement at age 28.
Earnhardt sorry about Burton wreck: It's Talladega for one and Dale Earnhardt a very season veteran of auto racing said the accident at Talladega was a matter of not hitting Jeff Burton's car square, "I got into Jeff and didn't hit him square and turned him down the race track and ended up wrecking him. Just didn't hit him square, misjudged the push I was going to give him and did it incorrectly." said Earnhardt.
Jeff Burton handled the accident with class straight away, "He didn't mean it, he didn't do anything wrong. We just didn't get lined up. It got a little hectic getting into (turn) three, and I think I moved a little bit more than I thought I was and we just didn't get lined up right. It won't be the last time it happens." said Burton.
Detroit wins but hits the road: In just about two weeks the Lions have to go back on the road after hosting the Jets this Sunday. The Lions go out to Buffalo (0-7) for Nov 14th and in Dallas Nov 21. Their going for beating their own NFL record of consecutive road loses and they haven't won on the road in three years.
The Lions are going for beating their own NFL record of consecutive road loses. Here's one team they might have a chance to snap this streak against they're headed to Buffalo. That's winless Buffalo it's a toss up but I have November 14th marked down on my calender. When the Lions get there in a few weeks the Bills will be due.
